gpu problem please help no signal?

hi i have a asus z170-a motherboard and i built a i5 6600k system last year my gpu was a gtx 1070. all has been well but now when i switch on the pc all i get is no signal from all the ports on my gtx 1070, i have tried everything the only thing i can think is maybe the monitor is dead

test the theory, remove the 1070 and test the monitor on the igpu. if the monitor does not get a signal on that GPU it lends to your theory.
do you have another monitor to test with?

yes i tried with my monitor and that seems okay, so maybe the monitor then confusing

Only works on the motherboard if I disconnected the gpu

the monitor is good then, that draws attention to the GPU as the cause of the problem.
