Hi.

I'll try and explain as best I can. And please excuse any bad grammar, english is not my native language.

I got a Icy Box IB-RD2253-U31 External 2-bay RAID enclosure the other day. I want to have my two Kingston 960gb SSD's in RAID0 hooked up to my laptop via USB 3.0 (http://www.raidsonic.de/products/external_cases/soho_raid/index_en.php?we_objectID=3239)

I've followed the instructions for setup but are experiencing low speeds with Crystalmark and ATTO benchmark.
(RAID0 = 289 read / 398 write)

Here is how I went forward :
Both discs are formatted in Disk manager (Initialized as GPT and formatted NTFS). Installed both discs in the enclosure and connected ac power and USB cable to USB 3.0 port. Choose the RAID0 pin setup on the back of the enclosure and hit confirm button. Disk manager now see both discs as one (1,788 TB) and it is unallocated.
I initialize with GPT again, and same procedure with formatting (NTFS).

According to the user manual the drives should now be in RAID0. I test speed with Crystaldiskmark and ATTO but get low speeds (see above).
I tested in 'Large' mode (JBOD?) and 'Single' mode on the back of the enclosure. In Large mode i get 400 read / 60 write, and in Single mode I get full speed, 550 read / 522 write.

The discs are 'Basic' and not 'Dynamic' when checking in Disk Manager. But according to Icy Box support, that is not possible to convert via USB in Windows. But the RAID controller in the enclosure should handle that part.

I've tried multiple times with same procedure, and even on another PC with Windows 7 (I'm on win10) and it's same results.
Icy Box support has sent a request to the factory for help. But I'm afraid that will take days, if not weeks to hear back from them.

Any idea what this could be?
All help is appreciated. Sorry for the lengthy thread.

So I've done some more testing. Got another external enclosure that supports RAID. Exactly the same procedure as with my old one, and I am getting the exact(!) same speed on Crystalmark and ATTO. So it has to be something I am doing wrong. If someone has any idea on what this could be then any help would be appreciated.

In short : I am getting low speeds on my external enclosure in RAID 0, running 2 Kingston 960GB SSD.
(RAID 0 : 289 mb/s read / 398 mb/s write)
Have anyone done this that could give me a quick step-by-step? I am doing everything according to the manual.
