I've decide to buy a new PC:

Aim: Gaming (60fps)/Univsersity/Maybe some coding in the future (Microsoft Visual Studio f.e). (Currently studying engineering)

NO OC / NO 2k/4k Gaming/ No VR / NO rendering/ NO editing/ NO
Streaming

I have the: Storage (1tb HDD and 240gb SSD) + GTX 970 + W10 64, already from my previous setup and if I upgrade I will keep them.

1st INTEL: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/m6JCYr

2d AMD: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/wYgX8K (it has a better ram speed due to AMD benefit with it)

I'm not convinced with the AMD beacuse of the performance in games vs Intel. I want some opinions, and if you want to suggest some changes, please give some reasons for it. 8th gen is near, I know, but I'm not intereseted in having the last beacuse it is almost the same as 7th.

I know that I can have some rgb troubles with Tridentz RGB memory on MSI mobos (they were realased for ASUS mobos at first), in that case I will put: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/ntYWGX/corsair-vengeance-rgb-16gb-2-x-8gb-ddr4-3000-memory-cmr16gx4m2c3000c15 (3200 in the case of AMD)

I don't worry about the extra usd between them, so only consider performance in games and how many years I can use this rig.

Thank you.-
(Not english native, sorry for any mistake).-

Solution
Testing in Techpowerup's gaming test suite gives a 15% advantage to the 7600k, and the 7700 is fater than that.

1. The H7 isn't a bad cooler ... but the $90 Cryorig flagship (R1) is much better, and the $37 Scythe Nugen matches the performance of the $90 Cryorig for about the same cost as the H7

2. The Tomahawk is a gorgeous board but comes with a substandard audio chipset (Realtek ALC892). The MSI SLI Plus was a steal last week at $106, this week it's $136 Suggest:

($136) https://pcpartpicker.com/product/G9X2FT/msi-z270-sli-plus-atx-lga1151-motherboard-z270-sli-plus
($119)...
Your pcpartpickers list shows you are not that interested in gaming coz u haven't included a GPU. If that is the case, both the rigs are pretty pointless. Give me your budget, i will build a pcpartickers list. i7 7700 outperforms ryzen 5 in every aspect.

He has one already

I already have the GTX 970, it's in the post .-.

For pure gaming performance, the 7700 should be adequate. But then again, the 8700 should give you a some performance boost over this generation... http://wccftech.com/intel-core-i7-8700k-cpu-benchmarks-leak-faster-than-8-core-ryzen/
It will also last you longer for the 2 extra cores, giving you more longevity in terms of scaling and optimization into the future. The IPC is not going down anyway.

3. Check RAM height and make sure fits w/ cooler.

Will take it into account. I was lookin for keeping a white style without spending so much, I don't know how many white mobos will support 8th and how much they will cost.

You can swap the GPU for a 1070 as you dont prefer 4k; so do i, i am not interested in 4k too. And truly, 1080ti still struggles at 4k, 4k gaming has a long way to go. Only consoles like PS4 pro and Xbox One X can do those by checkerboard algoritms and so on. No true 4k Gaming cards are there and wont be till 2020.

Nice setup but I'm not interesetd in buying a new GPU, I just wanted to change a few things (CPU,MOBO,RAM,CASE), but thx for the build.

There will always be a white board somewhere down the line, but it might not be sooner. For now the 7700 setup looks to be ideal, given your criteria. Stick with it, if you do not want to wait for the next gen.

You really need to read the original post.

He is keeping / reusing his 970
He is keeping / reusing his HD
He is keeping / reusing his SSD
He is keeping / reusing his OS
He has no interest in 2k or 4k gaming

As for Ryzen ? averages 15% slower than 7600k in gaming in TPUs game test suite and the 7700 is faster than the 7600k

I wasn't referring to anything about music... I'm talking the quality sound you hear while gaming as well as being able to determine where the sniper shot game from that wounded you based upon the direction the sound came from.

Oh, okey, I just wanted to said that I'm not really an expert and I don't really care as long as I can hear it at least a bit clear.

Is there a REALLY BIG difference or is just a bit?
