What's my Bottleneck? (PUBG)

Hi!

I've been upgrading my build over 10 years but I think I've hit my mobo's plateau.

I play a lot of Battlegrounds, and it runs ok on absolute lowest settings, but I'd love to do better.

SPECS:
Gigabyte H55M-S2H motherboard
Intel Core i7 870
8GB DDR3 PC3-12800 RAM
AMD Radeon HD 7870 GHz edition
Samsung 850 EVO SSD
550watt Cooler Master power supply
Windows 10 Home Premium 64 bit
Large Cooler Master Case

When it comes to Battlegrounds (PUBG), I assume my CPU is the main issue?

Any suggestions? Thank you!!

Well yeah both CPU And GPU, But since you don't have a upgrade path in the CPU that will give you noticeable difference in the same motherboard, the only option is getting a better GPU, but like i say, if you want to play latest titles with decent performance(60fps+) you will need a new Build.

Sadly There's little room for improvement , you'll need a new Build if you want to play Latest titles with decent settings.

But for now a GTX 1050Ti would improve your performance in games, but the GTX 1050Ti will be limited by the PCIE 2.0 since neither your processor or motherboard supports PCIE 3.0

Thanks for the reply! Much appreciated.

Am I right though, that my CPU is the main performance limiter? I'm no expert but I thought the 7870 is still a decent card and would expect it to be able to do better than minimum graphics settings, which makes me think that it's not the problem.
