As the title states, i installed a corsair h115i cooler and when i go to turn on the pc it just turns on for 2 secs and then turns off, and repeats. I had a H75 cooler on there before and the system worked perfect before that. I've tried reseating the cooler twice (replaced thermal paste everytime with AS5) and reseating the ram sticks. It seems like the system is detecting a short maybe?

my specs:
i7 4790k
Evga 1080 hybrid
hyperx 1866 16gb ram
corsair RMx 650w psu
msi gaming 5 mobo

I just at a loss for words right now and i cant understand whats happening. I checked all connections such as the cpu power cable, h115i pump fan header, sata, etc. all the fans in the case turn on, and the led strip turn on but it just turns off after like 2 seconds. I can see the cpu temp on the board hitting in the 30s when its trying to boot. Any advice would be helpful, after work today im goin to install the old h75 cooler and see if that changes anything. thanks

Solution
man you broke some led ircuit lines around the standoff screw hole look like you need a new mobo and why you did have to use pliers this means screws where to tight . see the one with gray spot .

would a dead pump cause that issue or would the pc start and the temps jus skyrocket and then overheat? i havent tried to put the old H75 back on yet because i ran out of time and had to go to work but thats the first thing i will try when i get back home, ive put several corsair cooler on alot of pcs and never had this issue :/

yeah i watched that same video before the install, its pretty easy to install everything. ive installed a few units before with no issues. i got everything installed just as that video. what noise should i be hearing for the pump? is it supposed to be loud cuz its fairly quiet when it starts up, all fans and leds light up. if it was a dead pump would this cause this issue im havin or would the pc start up and jus overheat THEN shutdown?

so i tried to reseat the h115i for the 3rd time, same issue. tried clearing the cmos, same issue, tried the old h75 cooler...same issue. before the pc shuts off to do the bootloop, the LED on the mobo displays code 03 which ive researched to do something with the ram, cpu, or gpu i believe? idk what to do at this point, something that was a simple cpu cooler swap has now left me screwed :( im goin to try using different ram sticks, then reseat the cpu itself and check for bent pins.
i seen the mobo scratched a tiny bit where one of the cooler standoffs were idk if thats affects anything

well thought id post my fix for any future people having the same issue. switched it to my old motherboard and found out that I made a dumb mistake when removing the old cpu cooler bracket on the first mobo, it had a stripped screw and i used pliers to hold the back piece while i loosened the front standoff, and i scratched the mobo circuit just barely enough for it to short, oh well time to get another i guess :) just glad i found the problem.
