With GTX 1050, you can play with ultra settings @ 720p or low settings @ 1080p if your CPU would match the GPU's performance.

For example, here's how your build with GTX 1050 would do with GTA V,

You can check other games via game debate as well. E.g Watch_Dogs 2 and your PC,

While it is possible that you can get some of your games running...

While it is possible that you can get some of your games running when using GTX 1050, your CPU will be the bottleneck and you'll need CPU upgrade as well if you want to play all those games.

I agree with Aeacus in everything, but the performance might be a little bit lower than a regular 1050 because of the 'mini'. Also, I'm pretty sure there's a 4gb version that might be better for newer games.

The 4GB VRAM version of GTX 1050 is called GTX 1050 Ti,
specs: https://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-1050-ti/specifications

GTX 1050 Ti can do medium settings @ 1080p. For high/ultra settings @ 1080p, GTX 1060 or RX 580 is needed.

Check the specs of OP's PC and you'll see that there's no point in going with better GPU since his CPU will be a bottleneck even when using GTX 1050.

If there wouldn't be any bottleneck, then yes, GTX 1050 Ti would be better but since there is a bottleneck, it's waste of money to go with better GPU.
