Hello! I am a complete newbie to PC building/modifying and I have a couple questions regarding the RAM and graphics card compatibility.
I am currently trying to upgrade the Acer Aspire M5630:

CPU Name: Intel Core 2 Duo E4500
The motherboard supports DDR2.

I am planning to extend the amount of RAM the PC currently has (4GB to 8GB) but I am not sure which RAM is compatible with my computer. Also, looking at manuals for this computer, it seems that the support memory per socket is only a maximum of 2GB. Am I able to bypass this restriction or do I have to stick with a 2x2GB RAM?

Solution
The Acer Aspire M5630 uses the G31 chipset with integrated memory controller which limits memory capacity to 2 GB per slot. So for two slots, the total supported memory is 4 GB.

This 4 GB memory capacity limit can't be raised or bypassed.
