Slow internet speed after resetting router

Good afternoon !

I've recently moved and at my new home I have a HUAWEI EchoLife HG8245H in Modem or Bridge mode (set by the ISP after giving them a call) and a Asus RT-N18U router.

I have some problems !

First, when the Huawei was acting as the router my download speed on speedtest.net was 500 Mbps and the upload was 20 Mbps. After the ISP put the Huawei in Modem/Bridge mode, I've installed the Asus as the main router, but the download speed went to 300 Mbps and the Upload to 450 Mbps. The ISP bandwidth that I am paying for is 1000 Mbps, like in the previous house, but there I had the download speed at 900 Mbps; the upload was at 450 Mbps, so no complain here.
Note that I did not change any setting from the previous house where I had way better results.
I have a basic user access for the Huawei so I can't check any advanced settings.
Also the name of the Internet Connection was renamed to *Npcap Loopback Adapter* for some reason.

Secondly, today I couldn't connect any mobile device to the wireless so I've backed up the router settings and hit the reset button. Now only my phone connects to the wireless, the other one does not connect. The Upload speed went down to 20 Mbps, like when I used the Huawei as the main router. Under *Npcap Loopback Adapter* says "No Internet" but here I am posting on the internet.

What do you think I can do about these ? Thank you !

Update 1: I've tried uploading the back up settings into the Asus and it went awful. The Router IP address changed to God knows what and I couldn't access its interface. I tried using Nmap-Zenmap but it only got one host where I couldn't not connect and the arp - a and ipconfig commands returned no value at Default Gateway and no IP listed there could get me in the Asus Interface.

Then I've reset the Asus manually with a pin and it went automatically to the interface, new setup and now these are my speeds: http://www.speedtest.net/result/6609447043.png

The wireless (only 2.4 Ghz) appears to work just fine. I've reached 100 Mbps on both download and upload on a iPhone 6S Plus.
The only problem now is why is the download bandwidth limited to 325 Mbps when, in the past, using a Huawei HG8240H as modem and the Asus as the router, I could've reached 900 Mbps download speed. I'm paying for a 1000 Mbps bandwidth, I don't want a third of it.

Wondering about that "checked" choice for "b/g Protection".

Not familiar with it per se (full disclosure). However, I found the following link within this forum:

http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-3299785/protection-enabled.html

May or may not fit your total situation but it may be a lead that helps.

Also run and post the results of "ipconfig /all" (without quotes) via the command prompt on your computer.

As for the reset on the Asus router the following link should help you regain access the router's admin screens:
