I am looking for an external lpt port 3" floppy disk drive as all the USB versions are 3.5".
The reason I need a 3" one is to write the CP/M 3 boot disk and other CP/M utilities to that drive.
There is nothing wrong with nostalgia.

Yes, the wiring would be different.
AS well as the physical part that spins the disk, and the read/write heads.

Looking through ebay, I am seeing zero 3" floppy drives.

A 3" ?
Not 3.5"?

That was a VERY short lived format. You'll probably have to look on fleabay, and get very lucky.

Unfortunately, I am not very technical in a way to convert 3" drive to 3.5". All those schematics could as well be in a foreign language.
I will have a look on YouTube to see if someone explains it in detail, because I have some spare 3.5" drives which I could put in my Amstrad PCW 9512. Then I would no longer need 3" disk drives.

I doubt there is any "conversion".
3 vs 3.5 is a physical thing.
