I'm getting SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION fltmgr.sys when I'm playing Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor

To be sure it's not caused by memory I'm going to run memtest.

Memory - Corsair Dominator Platinum 2x8 DDR4 2666MHZ running on X.M.P. automatic overclocked profile by bios

What should I know to run the test right, how many passes are enough ? And what else could I do to stop that bsod.

XMP is not a standard per say it was started by Intel to get chip capable memory stick to change their speed of access (doesn't really boost a lot ie: a 1333 will not run at 2400 for example, that would require proper overclocking per say of the memory chips.

XMP can cause BSOD I have seen it yet 2 days ago on a friend pc, suggested he turned it off and he has no issues with his system since, mind you his is a older 4th gen system board and an H87 not z87 at that so it is possible that has something to do with his issue. but I digress.

the point is XMP is not a "true" standard yet. so on some system because the board is advanced enough the bios is able to change the standard speed to be a little better and make sure the timing is not...

It's running at 2133Mhz without xmp, and 2667mhz with auto XMP, Also I thought maybe cpu should be overclocked to work well with ram, it's i7-6700K running in stock clocks.

Meanwhile test is running (XMP still enabled), passes 2 / 4 and I've got 3 errors right now in memtest (v7.4 free)

Test: 6 Addr: 7878FA40 Expected: 00010001 Actual: 00000001 CPU: 6
Test: 6 Addr: 7A31FA20 Expected: 00010001 Actual: 00000001 CPU: 6
Test: 9 Addr: 11A652384 Expected: 4907E13A Actual: 4906E13A CPU: 6

Probably I should've run test without xmp at first, but does it make a difference ? I'm going to run the test without xmp after this one and find out.

Maybe I've missed something ? is it so easy to "overclock" ram ? moreover my particular ram offering this n that features for overclocking etc. so why should it work with errors in xmp ?

now that said run the memtest on the standard non XMP ram and if it fails the same way then you have a bad memory stick otherwise I strongly suspect the xmp is just not working well for that kind of ram you have.
