i just found a asus p8z77-v motherboard and a i5 3570k with it at a local electronics store. They say that you can leave anything there and theyll recycle it so i just casually saw a motherboard with a processor in it that someone had just left there. So i grabbed it and checked it out. the processor looks good and the motherboard too, it was until i inspected some more that i found a couple of broken pins on the motherboard. I just dont understand why someone just left it there. Anyway what do you i should get for these and could i repair the pins myself.

Not mad in the least. I have ZERO problem with Reduce/Reuse/Recycle.
However...I don't just take stuff off the floor in a local store without asking.

Now...if it was in an actual dumpster, or out on the curb for the trashman...take it away!

And hopefully, that store includes all that junk with all their other electronics disposal. Instead of just throwing it in the garbage to end up in my local landfill.

I would ask first. Not just 'take'.
Smile and ask nicely, and they will almost certainly say yes.

If they say no, it is because they are getting $$ back for that stuff.
