Hey guys, I bought a brand new (sealed) gtx 1050 ti from Amazon for £135 by eVga

I used a
I3 2120 and GT 730 2gb gddr5 combination before, however it didn't work properly and I had to bypass the hp blue screen logo by tapping f12

After uninstalling that GT 730, I placed my GTX 1050 TI inside my pc and tried to do the same, but the pc does not bypass the same way, it goes black after a while and then the screen becomes all pixelated and fuzzy, can not see a thing

My motherboard is

Foxconn 2abf (please help me find bios update also)
300w psu, I heard it's find

Solution
Have a look around, there are some cheap B250 motherboards, pair it with a cheap G4560...
For your PSU it depends on the quality, Also it depends on the load it can deliver at the 12v rail. A lot of these PSU's from brand name computers may or may not be a good quality, but what they usually have in common is that they cannot deliver that much on the 12v rail. A good modern PSU will be able to deliver most of it's load on a single 12v rail and not waste it's capacity at the minor rails.

For your GPU problem, it could be either the PSU to weak or your motherboard cannot support it properly, that is also something we have seen before with these brand name computers, some brands worse than others.

Well, I am going to test this GPU at my friends house to see if it's my psu/motherboards fault but, other people have the same setup and they use the 1050 ti, so I don't see why mine doesn't work and also I used a GT 730 that didn't support it properly

Yeh I'm going to test it, but with this motherboard GT(x) 700+ series is classed as NEW and anything lower, 660 ti etc will work without a problem

It's likely that is your problem. GPU not supported by that mobo or BIOS. Then the next problem with HP computers, when they discontinue a model they will no longer have the drivers and bios updates available on their website. Lesson to learn, stay away from HP.

Yeah, I have tested this card in my friends pc and it works without a problem, I will buy a new mobo and a i5 3550, is that worth upgrading?

Apart from being able to use your old DDR3 RAM, why would you buy a 5 year old CPU that uses an outdated motherboard socket? Ivy Bridge was great, but things have moved on since then, get a Kaby Lake motherboard and CPU.

Probably due to being able to get it cheap on the used market.

It's because I'm on a tight budget and I need only something to use for now so it's easier if I get a new mobo and i5 3550 I think tbh unless you know where to find decently cheap Kaby Lake cpu and mobos

Have a look around, there are some cheap B250 motherboards, pair it with a cheap G4560 and it's a perfect match for your GTX 1050Ti. Then if you want to upgrade the CPU in the future, you have a motherboard that's current generation.
