Okay so the issue I am having is that I am not getting any power to my motherboards at all. No LEDs light up, no beeps, no fans spinning nothing.

At first I was running a EVGA 650p2 into a GigabyteZ170mx-gaming5 with a i56700k.
One night I came home from work and was watching a live stream on twitch. My PC powered off all by itself. I went to turn it back on thinking oh maybe I bumped it and it shorted or maybe there was a shake from the ground idk whatever right. Anyways it wouldn't power on, took it all apart piece by piece trying to source the issue. The problem kept occuring right down to bare bones essential parts. (mobo, psu, cpu, 1 8gb stick of RAM). I even tried taking out the CMOS battery for 5-10 minutes at a time. At this point I kind of figured I had a motherboard or power supply issue. So I setup an RMA for the PSU and ordered a new MOBO.

New MOBO arrived and bought a backup PSU as well so I could play some games right? Boy was I wrong.

So I tried my new PSU in the Gigabyte board just to ensure it wasn't a PSU issue well the new powersupply exhibited the same exact symptoms as previously described. (When doing the paperclip test in both PSU's the fan spins, as soon as I plug it into the MOBO and try to jump the pins on the board with a screw driver it's a dead fish).

So I get out the new MOBO getting excited thinking that this is the end all be all to my issue.
MSI z270 gaming m5 - corsair mx650. I follow the same steps as before. Processor, PSU, 1 ram stick, clear CMOS and the same symptom is occuring. PSU fan spins with paperclip but then when I go to setup and power up the actual board No LEDs, No fans, no beeps. The PSU fan is not even spinning. I have tried both boards, both PSU's. I'm at a loss for words here. Any help is greatly appreciated or advice. (outside of BBQing everything) =] thanks in advance!

Solution
the only part that left is the cpu chip. the newer chips have the memory controller built into them. i would see if a local shop has a test cpu you could see if it posts or rma the cpu chip. the onlyh other issu as posted is the old power supply may be killing parts.
Try only new board and backup PSU connected by 24-pin only, and some case fan connected to mobo, no CPU or ram or anything else. If it still fails to power at all, the only logical explanation I see is that your old PSU died and backup one is DOA.

I really don't think it's the PSU's I'm going to try connecting a case fan though to see if I get that powered at all.

update, case fan did not power on.

So I tried it with one stick right before I made this but here's the video I made of me trying to jump the pins if you notice me doing anything wrong just let me know. Long story short it doesn't make a difference what I put in and out of the mobo. Nothing happens at all. I've done this now with 3 power supplies and 2 mobos and no combination is giving me anything different.
