Howdy there. Built this PC about a year ago and looking to upgrade. I think something is bottlenecking here as when running Skyrim LE with 1k only textures, no big scripts, and a lightweight ENB, I drop to 19fps. Would like to keep current GPU but wondering if CPU is bottlenecking it and if so is there an upgrade I can do without replacing MB. (stock cooler and no OC on cpu, should I just get aftermarket Cooler and OC to 4ghz?) or will I have to replace both MB and CPU, and if so what would u recommend. Also what are the benefit of adding an SSD to this system for running games off of?

Upgrading that PC will require a new cpu, motherboard and ddr4 memory.

That CPU is the equivalent of a core i3 from 4-5 years ago.
Too bad you didnt come here a year ago, we could have told you how weak it was and that it is a poor investment. The 860k is the best CPU you can get for this platform so you have it already max out.

You can get a better cooler and faster memory and a few other tings to gain a couple percent here and there, but certainly not worth the cost of those "upgrades".
Do yourself a favor and dont throw away anymore good money after bad, just do a full platform upgrade
