So, built my computer last year. I came upstairs today to find that my computer was off, and would not start up again. A few mere hours ago I was playing games, on it just fine. Didn't put it to sleep or anything, but I was away for a few hiurs. Came back to the dead silence of it being off. When I hit the power button to turn my computer on, my cooler flashes for a brief second before turning off. No other sounds or lights. Any suggestions on what has gone wrong? Here is my build: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/m6xpjX

So I tested the power supply and the fan ran just fine. I also took out the CMOS battery and put it back in, still nothing.

The orange light for my Internet is lit and so is the power LED on my motherboard.

When I hit the power button, the back of my CPU cooler lights up for a fraction of a second and that's it.

Any more suggestions for pinpointing what is faulty here?

Which 8-pin cord is that, or what more specifically does it connect to? Sorry, I'm not too well versed in these things, so I don't want to be pulling the wrong things out instead.

Alright! I got the manual and found the 8-pin. After I pulled it out and hit power, everything seemed to turn on, the lights went on, the case fans and the cpu cooler fans and lights. What does this tell me?

EDIT: I realized in order to pull out the 8-pin, I had to take out my GPU. So I plugged the GPU back in, kept the 8-pin unplugged, and now we are back to the computer not starting again.

I don't actually have a different card or a different computer to try this one on. Is this possibly an issue with drivers or updates, or is it more likely an issue with the actual card?

Well, it all seems to power on just fine when the graphics card is not plugged in. Is it possible that the power supply isn't feeding to the card? Or does this all mean the carD is the problem? Or, rather, is there anything else I can do to narrow it down?
