Hi,

I have some issues with my Corsair Vengeance frequency, and am looking for assistance. It is a common problem, but I have not seen a proper explanation for how to solve it as of yet, so maybe this thread can give it.

I have these components:
RAM: corsair vengeance lpx 16gb 2x8gb ddr4 3000mhz
Motherboard: asus prime b350-plus am4

In Speccy, the DRAM frequency shows 1064.1 MHz.
In my BIOS the Memory frequency shows 2133 MHz (discrepancy: twice as much?)
In BIOS the memory frequency is set at AUTO, and all settings are at default. When I tried to increase to the option just under 3000 MHz (2966 MHz? Can't remember exactly), I could not boot.

The BIOS version is 0806.

So my question is:
Can someone give a detailed instruction on how I can increase the memory speed (or should I keep it as it is)?

Other info:
BIOS memory:
Frequency 2133 MHz
Voltage 1,2 V
Capacity 16384 MB

From Speccy:
Memory
Type Unknown
Size 16384 MBytes
Channels # Dual
DRAM Frequency 1064.1 MHz
CAS# Latency (CL) 15 clocks
RAS# to CAS# Delay (tRCD) 15 clocks
RAS# Precharge (tRP) 15 clocks
Cycle Time (tRAS) 36 clocks
Bank Cycle Time (tRC) 51 clocks
Command Rate (CR) 1T

My full component list:
amd ryzen 5 1600
asus prime b350-plus am4
ATI Radeon HD 4870 (temporary placeholder)
corsair vengeance lpx 16gb 2x8gb ddr4 3000mhz
wd red 2tb sata 6gb/s 64mb cache
samsung c24fg70 23.5"
logitech corded keyboard k280e (pan) oem
Define C Fractal
Asus PCE-AC55BT AC1200
Corsair RM550x 550W ATX 80+ Gold

Solution
You need to increase the RAM voltage to 1.35v and also change the timings in accordance to what is written on the sticker on the RAM. You could also try to load the XMP profile but that wont always work on Ryzen systems.

Yea, the voltage and timings was written right on the RAM: awesome tip.
I could not find the XMP profile setting, but instead DOCP (on BIOS front page) which I just changed to Profile#1.

Now my DRAM frequency is 1463.2 MHz (2926 MHz - almost as advertised).

So basically all I had to do was update BIOS and choose DOCP profile.
