Games keep crashing after installing new cpu.

I upgraded my cpu from Athlon X2 340 to X4 870k and after this all games close after playing few minutes. I installed the latest biosfor my motherboard, reinstalled the drivers for my gpu. Nothing works.
PC specs:
Athlon X4 870k
Asus A58M-K
GTX 750 ti
6gb ram
Gammaxx 300

WIndows might not take kindly to a sudden new CPU....

For starters, is the new CPU correctly identified in the BIOS? Runnig at the correct clock speed? If so...

Delete CPU references in control panel/system/device mngr/processor, then hit reset, let everything be re-detected....
