Hi all, I was taking the backplate off my card and now that I have gone to reattach it, I cannot for love nor money get the four screws back in. I think they are called Heat sink screws, they are screws with springs attached.

I have left them out for now and just put the card back in my PC as I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. I've tried pushing down and screwing, still nothing!

Do I even need them on?

as a side not I posted a similar post earlier and it was removed, but I'm not sure why as there was no explanation. My apologies if I'm breaking any rules with the question, but I'm at my wits end lol

Not sure if you bumped your earlier post but if you did the mods will delete it. You do need those screws since they are usually the only thing that keep your cooler attached to the card. Make sure the cooler is still aligned properly and the screws will go in no problem.

cheers mate, much appreciated, Its drying me insane. I feel them go down and I hear a click which I presume is the spring and then turn but as soon as I release pressure the things just pop straight up. It's very strange. I didn't even take the whole thing apart, I just removed the backplate, by back plate I mean the two pieces of metal that cover the back lol.

I'm not even sure if my terminology is correct!

Thanks again.
