Ram compatibility with mobo

Hey everyone im thinking of upgrading my ram. My current ram is 8GB 1600Mhz CL9, processor is i7-4790 and motherboard is msi z97 gaming 5. Actually voltage is more important to compatibility than speed. Here G.Skill is using increased RAM voltage to achieve the higher clock speeds which is a pretty standard thing to expect with high speed RAM. Your board is designed to managed this higher voltage and this will be okay.

Honestly though, that is a lot of money to spend on RAM and you will not see a huge performance difference over the 1600, especially with a non-K CPU. If you want to get 16GB of RAM I would just try to match the existing 1600 MHz RAM. If you are not sure how just let us know.
