Hello,

When my family open the YouTube app and start a video it slows down the internet very much ... even on the 144p resolution - and when the video is closed my internet is back fast again.
I have 1Mbps from TE Data and I live in Egypt - our communications system in Egypt is not good so please don't mind about my internet speed because it is very good and everything loads fast but without the YouTube videos.

I know that the solution is to use QoS - but my router is from my ISP and it is Huawei HG630 v2 (custom router made for the ISP).
But I can't setup the QoS of my router ! it is very hard.

Here is a screenshot of the QoS settings I tried to do but they have no effect and still a YouTube video is stronger than my laptop...

The other traffic management types are:
- IP QoS classification
- LAN QoS classification
- Application QoS classification

So yes, I tried to set a static IP for my laptop and try the "IP QoS classification" type but still no effect happens.

I'm connected via WiFi on my laptop, and notice that the other PC which is connected via an ethernet cable is also being affected from the YouTube streaming.

Any solutions?

Thanks!

So you already tried QoS/band width control with not very good results.

Sorry but it is what it is, 1mbps is not very fast and even 144 or 240p video is going to stress that connection. This is going to be even further compounded if it has to pull the video from server in a different continent than you and thus have much more latency.

I get it, there is not any faster options for internet ,but it is what it is. Streaming video is going to stress that connection, nothing can be done about it.

After contacting my ISP, I got the solution.
My ISP ( TE Data ) sent me this e-mail:

Hi,

Please check the following links for a list of the supported QoS routers:
http://forum.tedata.net/showthread.php?t=9711
http://forum.tedata.net/showthread.php?t=9712

And for your router (HG630 v2) :

- Enable bandwidth control.
- Set ingress bandwidth to 0.
- Click save button.
- Set a static IP (e.g. 192.168.1.200).
- Add a new rule with the following parameters:

Traffic classifier name: a
Schedule priority: Highest
Upload min & max: 0
DSCP mark: 56
Traffic management type: IP QoS classification
IP start range: 192.168.1.200
IP end range: 192.168.1.201

- Add another rule with the following parameters:

Traffic classifier name: b
Schedule priority: Deafult
Upload min & max: 0
DSCP mark: 10
Traffic management type: MAC QoS classification
MAC Device: The smartphones that cause the high usage on your internet bandwidth.

- Wait like 2 minutes for the changes to take effect. If the changes didn't happen, please reboot your router and wait 2 minutes.

- We recommend you to disable bandwidth control when you are using your smartphone because you will notice that it is allocating low bandwidth.

So you already tried QoS/band width control with not very good results.
