My current build is over 5 years old now so time for a new computer. So far it looks like I will be going with the EVGA GTX 1080, Kaby Lake I-5 7500, but haven't picked a mobo yet (suggestions welcomed). I will mainly use this comp for mid level gaming and internet. I currently have the Antec 900 case but it is way too tight on large GPUs. Is there a mid tower case out there that would work for me? Or should I just go full tower? I will only have one HDD and one SSD.

Also I currently have a Rosewill Hive Series 750W PSU, single 12v rail. It is 5 years old and says it is intel 4th gen ready. Will my old PSU work with my new system? I know that the 750w will be plenty of power just not sure about connector compatability

I'd suggest to get the Ryzen 1600 which is about the same price.Something like this,

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: AMD - Ryzen 5 1600 3.2GHz 6-Core Processor ($197.08 @ OutletPC)
Motherboard: Gigabyte - GA-AB350-GAMING 3 ATX AM4 Motherboard ($99.99 @ Amazon)
Total: $297.07
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

That psu probably isn't pushed very far so i think you could reuse it. No connector problems. ;)

For a case,
https://pcpartpicker.com/products/compare/Vpdqqs,yLDzK8,xjZ2FT,PZX2FT/
chose the windowed versions, but the non windowed can be cheaper.Other colors...
That CPU will bottleneck a GTX 1080 so I will suggest upgrading CPU to a 7600K. With that said and if it is just for mid level gaming you could also consider getting a GTX 1060 which is fine for 1080p gaming.
The Rosewill Hive is low quality crap PSU. I will suggest you upgrade to a better quality PSU.

So you all really think the I-5 7500 is going to bottleneck the GTX 1080? The reason I like it is it comes with a stock cooler and I dont have to worry about OCing it. Ive never been a big OCer.

On the GPU should I go with a GTX 1070? Though I noticed they are hard to come by right now. Also I picked out the ASUS ROG Maximus IX Hero Z270, 1151 as my Mobo. Is it overkill or is it a good mobo?
