Hello there!

I have a simple setup having 3 WD green 4tb drives installed in a mediasonic external enclosure as my data storage.

So I was transferring my data to one of my drives so naturally two of my drives will be idle and sleep. I accidentally clicked on the idle sleeping drives then for some reason it prompt and error "red x" I forgot what's written. Then one of my folders inside disappeared. This happened before and I just needed to reboot the drive. Shockingly the file still won't show up even if I rebooted the drive. I tried restarting it but to no prevail. My problem was solved by using check disk. Luckily my folders went back and it seems to match the size of the disk. So my question is what happened? did my files get corrupt? what other methods should I do to insure my data is safe? I don't use my drives that often, I only use them when ever I transfer data.

Thank you!
