Hi everyone, I am looking to build my own gaming PC as my other one is getting a bit outdated now. I am planning to keep the processor from the other one which is a I7 4770K and the graphics card which is an AMD HD 7850 and just get another graphics card as well and run them both at the same time as I have a 3 screen set up however I was looking if anyone could help me pick a motherboard which will support 2-4 graphics cards and at least 16GB of RAM and a case that will fit nicely to go with it. I also need to think about what else I could buy like power supply, coolers etc I am new to building a PC and have never done it before.
Thank you in advance.

Honestly, a 7850 is getting a bit dated - and relying on games that support CrossFire well, is probably not hte smartest idea.

Opposed to buying another 7850, I'd look to (something like) a 6GB 1060 and just run a single, stronger card.

Please list all the components you have currently. A 4770K is still a quality CPU (especially if you can OC it)... but PSU, motherboard, RAM etc?

Cheers for the reply and I was not going to get another 7850, I was planning on upgrading and mixing it with another like the 1060 and I have DDR3 Ram 16GB currently and the motherboard is just awful it has to go, I'm not even sure what it is.

Very few games are going to benefit from the addition of the 7850. DX12 Explicit Multi-Adapter was supposed to make this a little more "mainstream" but still requires developer buy-in. Unless you solely play Ashes of the Singularity, chances are that 7850 is going to be pretty useless for you.

What PSU do you have?

I'd suggest a 6GB 1060, and pick up a Z87/Z97 board that you can find (relatively) cheaply.
For example: http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-unused-MSI-Z97-S01-MS-7923-Socket-1150-MotherBoard-GUARD-PRO-/222425490206?epid=1565611466&hash=item33c997a31e:g:ty8AAOSwZVlXjI1D

Depends on the model. Check the labelling on the side.

Roughly, how old would the PSU be? If it's on the poorer quality side, or it's been in use for a long time, it would probably be a smart idea to replace it.
If it's been lightly used though, and was decent quality to begin with - you might be ok. A 4770K + 7850 is a ~250W draw at max (roughly).

As for the motherboard, could you run something like CPU-Z to confirm what it is? Under the main/motherboard tab.

If it can accommodate a 4770K and a GPU, you could still use it. I'm guessing it's an OEM or something though?

Yes, most GPU's can support triple monitor setups. Ensure you're not using anything connected via VGA though, as modern GPU's don't have an analog signal...... if you need VGA, you'll need active adapters.

Most (all?) 1060's should have 2x HDMI (2.0), 2x DisplayPort (1.4) and 1x Dual-link DVI.
