High temp warning

I have a 6700k at stock clock and want to overclock it. It is cooled by a kraken x62.

Now the coolant temp stays fairly low and under load of games I occasionally hit a warning from the cam control software that the CPU temp is at 81 or higher.

I have 3 screens and one is dedicated to system stats and chat boxes, when I receive this warning and look over at the cam software my CPU shows a temp of anywhere between 67 and 75.

I installed hardware monitor and noticed for seconds at a time and very randomly the package temp jumps past 80c and then jumps back down to about 75. It seems the warning I am receiving is in relation to the package temp. Does package temp thermal throttle?

Solution
With a capable cooler like a X62, I think that 67 - 75 degrees is very high for a 6700K at stock speeds. I would reinstall the cooler and apply some new thermal paste, and see if it helps with the temps.

ok so i cleaned off the cpu and waterblock and re applied some thermal compound. it seems to of worked. At idle the temp jumps between 23 and 26C. the room temp is 74F so thats fairly close. under the same load that use to throw a temp warning, the cpu sits right around 60

That sounds like more reasonable temps :) Do you still experience the temp spikes? I find that my 6700K does it, but not to a degree where I get temp warnings.
