System won't boot with 2133Mhz RAM

I just bought some DDR3 16gb 2133Mhz RAM (this one: http://www.corsair.com/en-gb/vengeance-16gb-dual-channel-ddr3-memory-kit-cmz16gx3m2a2133c10) but my system fails to boot whenever I turn X.M.P on. Turning X.M.P on sets all the correct timings, voltage and frequency as advertised, but the system just fails to start and then resets me back to 1333mhz.

The system boots if I set the memory frequency to 1866 Mhz (with XMP turned OFF) but no higher.

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA Z68AP-D3 rev 2.0
CPU: I5 2500k
RAM: Vengeance® — 16GB Dual Channel DDR3 Memory Kit (CMZ16GX3M2A2133C10)

Solution
you could leave for 1866 now maybe in a bios update you will be able to run higher but i would contact ram maker to ask why there is a so high speed settings from fastest jedec to xmp .

I tried what you said and still no luck :(

I've tried setting the speed to 1866 and leaving the timings on auto, and that allows the system to boot. But I can't get to 2133, which is what I paid for.

Yeah I recently saw this whilst looking up my issue online. But people run 1600mhz ram on i5-2500k no problem, and also I can run 1866mhz ram, just cant get it to 2133.

Sorry im a noob with this sort of stuff, could you explain a bit more what you mean? I have opened CPU-Z and i am on the SPD tab, what do I do from here?

the fastest "jedec" is JEDEC #3, which has a frequency of 666Mhz. Next to that is "XMP-2132" which has a frequency of 1066 MHz

I have tried this already, as I stated in my original post. Whenever I turn XMP settings on, the system fails to boot.

Did you set the timings to this.
10-11-11-31 trc to 54 command rate T2 then the speed to 2133 and the voltage to 1.55?
The 2133 speed is a OC for the board and memory controller and is not guaranteed.
I would try it again with the above timings and sped and set the voltage to 1.6
You could also try to loosen the timings to 11-13-13-31, 2133 and 1.6 volts.
From their if it don't work you will probably need to overclock the processor to the 4.6 area.

I've tried everything you said and still cant get it to boot :(
I guess I'll leave it at 1866. I should've read more about this before I bought it I guess :/
