Hey all,

Planning on purchasing a prebuilt based around the S340 Elite case, and had a couple of questions regarding the h100i front rad push or pull intake. The prebuilt in question is this:

https://www.pccasegear.com/products/40299/pccg-cobalt-1080-gaming-system

Should I go with the fans behind the radiator, or the fans in front of the radiator? I'm relatively new to the whole push/pull configuration, and if I'm not mistaken having the fans behind the radiator is a pull config whilst having the fans in front of the radiator is a push config?

Seeing as the two S340 elite case fans come in an exhaust configuration by default (or so I heard) does that mean that having the radiator fans in a pull config (fans behind the radiator) is the optimal setup for airflow? The images in the prebuilt system I listed shows the fans in front of the radiator, which is why I'm a bit confused.

Should I change the way the Radiator fans are mounted as per the images (assuming the S340 fans come as exhaust by default), or should I just keep the prebuilt as it is? I'm open to both suggestions.

I understand the community's general dislike towards prebuilt systems, however I'm simply here to hopefully learn more about the general push/pull configurations and which would be the best for my system.

Solution
Pull means that you are sucking the air through radiator, push means you are blowing the air through the radiator. If it is behind depends if you mount the radiator as intake or exhaust.

And pull is with the fans behind the radiator?

So, in order to set my front radiator up as a pull intake, I would need to position the fans behind the radiator with the fans facing outwards? Or place the fans behind the radiator facing inwards?

I see, thank you very much for the response! Since the s340 elite comes with a removable dust filter on the front of the case where the radiator is positioned at, would the config as seen in the pictures affect radiatior dust build up as much? I'm assuming the filters would catch most of the dust regardless of push or pull so I'm wondering if swapping it around would make much difference at all in terms of dust buildup with the dust filters in place.
