I upgraded my GPU from R9 280X 3GB to a 1060 6GB and I can hardly see any difference in performance. I have tweaked the settings in nvidia control panel with barely noticable improvements. I'm not an expert, but I suspect the 1060 isn't fully compatible with my mobo. Could also be that it's bottlenecked. If so, how to fix it or improve performance?

Edit: I used a bottleneck calculator, seems like my CPU is too weak. Any way I can crank it up?

Specs:
CPU - AMD AM3 FX 6350 Black Edition
GPU - ASUS GeForce GTX 1060 6GB DUAL OC

Get a decent after-market cooler and overclock that CPU. It will increase a bit your performance. It's the best you can do atm...

Just don't go buying a new FX CPU as you'd be wasting your money on a dead platform. If you wish to upgrade your CPU(and completely remove your bottleneck) either get Ryzen or CoffeeLake(when it launches ofc)
