My router died today. I was trying to come up with a temp fix by moving the computer's Ethernet from the router over to the modem (Xfinity) instead. i.e. bypassing the router. But Win10 wouldn't recognize it. I guess because it has a different IP addy now? I'm pretty dumb about this, so if there is a quick temp fix until I get a new router, please coach me.
