ZOTAC GeForce GTX 1080 AMP! Exteme
or
EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 GAMING, 08G-P4-5180-KR, 8GB GDDR5X
?
One gpu top list says the Zotac is the best, but i'm not sure.

Solution
I'd go for the EVGA better build quality! If aesthetics is what you're looking for then the backplate and the larger cooling solution might interest you. In terms of performance they are both the same card underneath.

I wouldnt call a 170MHz jump "substantial", nor would I call it much faster.

I'm more into performance than aestetics.
GPU boss says evga is a bit better
and isn't the clock difference noticeable?

Sorry guys, i just realized i quoted the wrong card.
I was actually thinking of
EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 SC GAMING, 08G-P4-6183-KR, 8GB GDDR5X, ACX 3.0 & LED
and the Zotac one. Is that a good GPU overall?

That EVGA is alot closer to the Zotac in performance, but still a little slower. I've never had a problem with either brand, But I can't see any reason to buy the slower card unless you are getting it for less.

More than 10% difference is trivial to you? Ok.

yes, but evge is les bulkier and consumes less power

Youre making the simple mistake of calling a 10% clock speed difference a 10% difference in performance. Thats not how that works at all.

I'm considering a third option
how is
Asus GeForce STRIX-GTX1080-A8G-GAMING Scheda Grafica da Gaming, 8 GB GDDR5X, PCI Express 3.0, Nero
compared to former two?
please help

Like to add words to others posts to support your nonsense do you?. And when comparing cards of the same platform they key differentiators are clock speed and price. In the case of the original two cards being discussed 11% is a very large difference.

Take the MSI lighting card for an example.
It has a clock speed of 1720MHz, compared to the 1480MHz of the standard 1080Ti, thats a 240MHz difference, or ~15%. Yet its only 5-7% faster.
https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/MSI/GTX_1080_Ti_Lightning_Z/29.html

Its not a flat conversion.

How are the prices of the STRIX compared to the EVGA?
I personally would choose the cheaper of the two, unless the prices are extremely similar.
Either card would be a great choice, but the ASUS card is a bit larger, so thats a clearance issue to consider.

It is a great card I'm sure. I have a bias against ASUS due to the bad QC I've enjoyed on the last couple of Asus proudcts I've bought (some motherboards). So would hesitate to go with the ASUS unless it was just a much better value.
