I have just been messing around with my old graphics card in an older computer, and I am wondering why the GPU isn't being detected. The fan on it spins, but I am not sure if it is compatible with the motherboard. I have tried installing drivers for it through the nvidia installer, but it always says that there is no detected graphic cards to install drivers to. The case comes with a 250W PSU and given the age of the platform, I'm also assuming that the PSU hasn't changed since the system's purchase. This means that the capacitors n the unit due to wear and tear no longer allow for it to output effective power for the entire system with a discrete GPU onboard. FYI, you're going to need at least a 350W unit for the system when running a GT640 GPU.
