I am attempting to make a very, very, very cheap build with the best bang for your buck. I already have the processor, a 500 gig 7200 rpm HDD, 320 gig 2.5 HDD, and two DVD/CD recordabe, rewrittable, and readable. Because I already have this processor, I am wondering if I can cheap out on the motherboard too.

The incompatibility warning is because when 970 chipset mobos were first released CPUs like FX 4350 (Vishera) didn't exist yet, and those mobos had to get BIOS updates once those processors were released in order to support them. However, given that those CPUs have been out for years at this point, any new 970 mobo you buy is sure to have an up-to-date enough BIOS to support them.

That CPU is worth like $50 at the most, if you ditch it and go with a better platform you're really not losing much. It really depends on what you want to do with your build though.
