Why am I lagging when i have top of the line specs?

Hey guys I'm having lag issues when I play games tho its not all the time but games like Ark will lag and no where near max settings. Same thing with PUBG and even Destiny 2 and my buddy has a older pc and he played max settings just fine i dunno what the hell I need to do so any ideas are really appreciated.

My Specs:
threadripper 16core/32threads
2 1080TI SLI'd
m.2 1tb hd.
GIGABYTE X399 AORUS Gaming 7 mobo
16gb ram

I am using 3 monitors 1 is a 4k the other 2 1080

Connection is 10mb up 100mb down
Never had a issue with my older pc only with this one one.

Turn of sli. All of those games perform wierdly when pared with 2 gpu's.

This is not true, and most of the time disabling half the cores isn't worth it. Keeping the full 16 cores active with local mode enabled works just as well, or even better.

The difference this has is maybe 1% (so literally in the margin of error). Why loose out on your cores when it doesn't make a difference what so ever?
