Hi all.
I'm interested in Cryorig's air coolers and was wondering will the H7 series be sufficient for R7 1800X? (oc or not)
If not, will the other series, like R1, be better?
Thanks.

Solution
The Air Coolers you mention are rather big and bulky and can restrict your RAM height to low profile DIMMs. Mounting the radiator of an AIO is best top mounted, Its tidy and efficient imo and would not interfere with a lengthy GPU.

Is there a specific reason for not wanting a top mounted radiator apart from budget.?

Tower cases are a personal choice for looks and functionality, however the meshify c by fractal design is a decent case from the specs I have read.
If you want to OC and get the best performance from your 1800X. An Air cooler is not the way to go but that's just me.

thanks for the reply

the reason why I decided to go with air cooler is that i wanted to save some space in my case (the meshify c by fractal design). I know that water cooler is still possible to use but if I mounted it on the front panel, it may reduce the space for the GPU.

I did see one build that uses a water cooler and lengthy GPU, and it didn't seem to leave a space between them. I dunno if that's a good thing or not. on the other hand, I'm also not too keen about installing the radiator on the top but that's just me.

forgot to add,
what about the other series? like R1 Ultimate?

thanks for the advice.
well budget does have (very) big influence in my decision making :) ... and no other spesific or scientific reason, just a random opinion on esthetic view of the build (lame, i know)

Well your decision to get the 1800x was certainly not based on budget as you pay a premium for the best.
I suspect you do want the best or you would have chosen a 1700 or 1700X and saved considerable cost.

You can read my thread and build log at ROG for an independant impression re: benchmarks and performance and what can be achieved with this platform.

thanks for the link. checking it out right away :)

well, I was aiming 'for the best' (although the definition of "best" is arguable, I guess). but here where I live prices aren't very "friendly", also the choices of parts are somewhat limited. If I want something that is considered best or better, the budget would've rocketed since I have to import them and the shipping cost sometimes go beyond twice the price of the part itself. :(

That's the trouble on my end I suppose, but it shouldn't stop me for trying to find the best for my build right? :)

What? The Cryorig H7 doesnt restrict RAM DIMMS. I have the H7 and ive paired it with the Corsair Dominator Platinum with no problem then i later sold them and now i have Trident Z RGB RAM. These are some of the Bigger DIMMS on the market too.
