AMD Heatsink + Fan Compatability Question

I have an AM3 Mobo with an Athlon II processor. I am going to replace that Athlon II with a Phenom II x4. Can i definitely reuse the heat sink and fan from the Athlon since theyre both AM3 sockets? trying to put an economy build together.

Yes you can. Any AM3 CPU you should be able to use that fan with, just be mindful that more powerful CPUs may generate more heat and that fan not be as effective, but unless the fan is bad, you should be fine.
