Hello, I have a samsung s7 edge verizion phone and it cant load pass the verizion boot screen.
I think I can fix my phone if I use safe mode but all the guides for safe mode assume you can get the phone fully on. I am sure a factory reset would fix it, but I do not want to lose my personal data.

so is there anyway I can enter safe mode before it freezes? or do you know of any other fixes?
I tried clearing the cache but that did not fix it.
I think it is a virus.
bump.

Solution
If following the standard procedures does not start safe mode, you can't get around it. You make backups of the system before you have issues, not worry about it after. It may be a physical issue with the system also. Anything you can try now will involve wiping the phone. If you have things saved to your Google or Verizon account, it will come back once you logon to the system. Unless you know how you saved things that is not guaranteed though, by default the system saves contacts and files locally, you need to have installed Google Photos or something to save files to the cloud. For contacts, you can create them in your Google of Verizon account also, but again, the default is local phone storage. Unless you actively back...
