Brother MFC 9340cdw print quality degrades on multipage

when printing multiple copies of a page, the 1st few pages of print are crisp and clear; by the 10th (or so) copy the page reveals gray backround which gets worse with subsequent pages. Also, horizontal strips of more gray appear down the page. All of the gray becomes more pronounced as more pages get print. Waiting a day or so, the print again is crisp and then follows above characteristic.

Laser printer. They can and do get hot just by nature.

My thought is that multiple copies are causing some excessive overheating issue. Either in a component or just simply heat building up within the printer.

Are you using legitimate cartridges versus some refilled substitutes? 3rd party cartridges can often be quite problematic.

Is the printer clean inside? Has anyone performed any of the required maintenance and cleaning. (Check the User Guide/Manual.)

Make sure that there is plenty of space around the printer to help with air flows and cooling. Look for dust, debris, paper scraps, etc. that may be interfering with airflows.

Try pointing a fan at the printer to see if the additional air flow keeps things cooler and...
