What PSU would be best for an AMD Vega 56 or GTX 1070?

Hi guys,

So I'm looking to score either a GTX 1070 or an AMD Vega 56 (once better cooled 3rd party brands come out). Hopefully by end of the year. I'm wondering what PSU would best support either card?

And while I'm here, is there anything you guys would recommend changing in my build to go with the GPU upgrade? Thanks!

My build:
NZXT H440 Mid Tower
Gigabyte H170-Gaming 3 Motherboard
Core i5 6600
Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB (2x4GB) 2133MHz DDR4
Asus GTX 750ti OC 2GB
Corsair CX 600 PSU
PNY 480GB SSD
Windows 10 64bit
Asus VG245H 75hz Gaming Monitor (FreeSync)

Also, One of my monitors is going bad (not the ASUS), so I may be looking to snag a new 1440p monitor down the road! Just FYI :)

Depends on your budget and the card you choose. While the 1070 draws around 150w region typically, the Vega on the other hand draws somewhere around the 250w to 300w region depending on load.
Since you have a locked cpu, all the components combined, if you include a 1070, it should not draw more than 350w to 400w. So a decent 450w and upwards should suffice. But with the Vega, a decent 550w and upwards should be good.
Now depending on the card, you should typically look for the required wattage among the following variants...
Corsair CXM/RMX
Seasonic S12II/M12II/FOCUS
EVGA G2/G3/P2

What kind of PSU is it? You running a 1070 or vega? And nope, I do not plan to SLI.

i run a corsair v650s run it for heavy gaming hours a day had it for a couple of years and found no problems, not much expandability to it, but it does what i need it to do.

550w of a good PSU is more than enough. I suggest a Seasonic Focus, EVGA G2, EVGA G3, Corsair RMX, or BITFENIX Whisper, which are all great quality.

Hm, interesting. OK, so if that is the case why not stick with the CX 600 that I currently have? Will I have to worry about temps?

I see. So How about the Seasonic FOCUS Plus Series SSR-650FX (since they dont make a 600W)?
