I mean, I have 8GB DDR3 1333Mhz and am able to run effortlessly heavy games such as Far Cry 4 and Crysis 3 without using much more than 70% of my ram(with chrome and 10 tabs open).
Light video editing is also effortless when it comes to my ram, it barely uses 50% of my 8GB.
But at the same time I'm seeing high end games that have come out in the last couple of years that demand at least 12GB!! They're rare but these games are starting to come out with that amazing minimum requirement, but that's basically all I've seen when it comes to more than 8GB being necessary these days.
And that's with an ancient cpu(FX6300) and a lowly GTX 750.
So, what would you say is the minimum, the average and the recommended amount of ram today?
