So I bought a used core i5-3570k off ebay as an upgrade for the i5-2400 I was using before. I’ve never done a cpu upgrade before but figured it wouldn’t be too difficult. When the new cpu arrived I powered off my pc, took out the the old cpu and insterted the new one. I put everything back together, but when I power on the pc it beeps 3 times, pauses for 3 seconds and repeats. Most post tell me that it’s a ram issue so I reseated the ram but that didn’t work. I don’t think it’s the ram because I put my old cpu back in and it starts up fine. Are there any steps that I was supposed to do but missed? Or could I just have gotten a broken cpu?
