Hi guys i just build my new pc build and i used trident z 3200 mhz 2 x 8gb sticks.

Looking at it the sticks are showing 2300 mhx. why is this?

I have a asus strix rog b350-f mobo and places ram in a2 & b2 as recommended in the manual.

Any help appreciated !

Solution
Update the BIOS. 3200 MHz is an overclocked speed, you'll have to find the XMP/DOCP settings and set the frequency to 3200 MHz. You probably have a Ryzen CPU with that motherboard, and Ryzen does have memory frequency issues. Be prepared to lower the speed for a stable system. 3200 MHz RAM might work only at 2933 MHz or 3000 MHz.
