Hi guys,

I just recently built a desktop PC for the first time and am having some trouble getting it to start up. The motherboard LED turns orange so it seems like there is power coming from the PSU, but the fans do not run and when I try the power button on the case, it does not turn on.

Here are my specs:
Asus Prime Z270-K MOBO
Phanteks Enthoo Pro Series PH-ES614P case
EVGA 500 Watt PSU
intel i7 7700k CPU
Nvidia Geforce GTX 1070 GPU
Ripjaw DD4r RAM
Samsung Evo 250GB SSD
Seagate Barracuda 1TB HDD

The wiring should be fine. I've made sure the Power, reset, LED lights, etc. pins were all in the right spot, but it doesn't seem to matter. Could it have something to do with a faulty power button on the case?

Thank you.

Solution
It's a crap quality PSU. You should get a better one. If you are on tight budget go with Corsair CX series (2017 models) or Seasonic S12II series. If you want proper high quality go with Corsair RMx series or EVGA G2 series.

How should I test this? Remove my GPU and try to turn it on using the case power button? Or just by powering up my PSU? The fan in the PSU runs when I turn on the PSU and it lights up the motherboard. The issue I have is that none of the other fans run and I am unable to power up the PC using the case's power button.

Thanks!

Thank you! I know it's a cheap PSU and I should upgrade.
