AMD FX-6200 4K Gaming with 1080ti?

I'm looking to upgrade my build, rather than start from scratch. My target is to reach 4k 60 FPS.

I'm hoping upgrading the GPU to a GTX 1080 Ti and upgrading to 16 GB of RAM will be sufficient without upgrading the CPU. My biggest concern is my CPU bottlenecking the GPU.

My current specs (minus the parts I'm swapping) are as-follows:

MB: ASRock 970 EXTREME3 AM3+ AMD 970 + SB950 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard

CPU: AMD FX-6200 Zambezi 6-Core 3.8GHz (4.1GHz Turbo)

Should my CPU be sufficient to reach 4k resolution in-game with an upgraded GPU and RAM?

Unfortunately anything you drop into that board would end up as a CPU bottleneck. The best course of action would be to invest in a more current platform instead of shelling over your existing system.

Thank you! I had a feeling that would be the case. I'll just build something with a less expensive GPU for now and upgrade that when I can.
