Which new components would be better?

My current pc specs:

CPU: Pentium Dual Core E6600
Mobo: Gigabyte G41-S2PT
GPU: MSI GTX 650 1GB
RAM: 4GB

I have been using this since 2012, and it still runs quite smoothly. But as u already figured, I can't play new games.

I play a lot of games. But mostly FIFA and PES. Also NFS, COD, MAFIA 2 etc etc... I can play FIFA 14 at highest settings, PES 16 at Highest settings, Mafia 2 at Highest settings.. but i CAN NOT play the new games. AND IT IS obviously BECAUSE OF MY CPU.

I play games at 720p. So my GPU still does the work for me.. i guess.

Now, I want to buy a new pc.

Which build would be better?

Is the MSI GTX 650 (1gb) still good enough for new games at 720p?

or do i need to buy a new GPU as well?


if i need to buy both of them, then my budget will allow me to buy

i5 7500 + GTX 1050 Ti + Motherboard, ram and other parts...

or r5 1600 + GTX 1050 TI + Motherboard, ram and other parts...


If i don't need more than GTX 650 for 720p Gaming, then my budget is good enough for

i7 7700 or Ryzen 7

my budget is not tight. i can increase it if necessary. i just want better value for money. and i don't want to buy something that i don't need.

a lot of people recommended G4560, and i considered it too! but i fear G4560 will not be able to perform up to the mark, that's why i am choosing i5 or i7.

So please, tell me which processor and gpu would be perfect for playing games at 720p smoothly

On your tight budget forget about the I7. Instead consider an I5-7600K and a GTX 1050 TI. You could even go with just GTX 1050 if you are only at 720p.
The 7600K is, except for the 7700K the best gaming CPU you can get. Ryzen CPU cannot beat Intel in gaming, so unless you also do rendering and other stuff that uses the extra cores from the Ryzen then Intel is the way to go.
