I have been having these problems for about a month now. When I am in between post and boot up, the screen flashes black a lot before seeing the windows logo screen and then thus signing in. Another problem is the system crashes at random times during gaming sessions where screen goes black but can hear sound, however when I press a key, no more sound either even though system is still on with fans and everything going. When I open ddu but don't do anything other than open ddu, system crashes every time. When I am doing casual things like watching Netflix or you tube or web browsing, I have no crashes. Temps are fine and system has i7-7700k with z170 pro gaming mobo with 16 gb of ram and h100i gtx watercooler. GPU is gtx 1080 ti founders edition. I am not for sure if these problems are related but seem to be because of the black screen. I don't know if there connected and thus can start diagnosing that way or if I need to do a different approach since it might be both hardware and software related or just one related? Thanks in advance.

I have the part list here: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/nhzKwV. I had psu for 1 year. I am not doing any Over clocking yet. I am using msi afterburning to monitor temps and other things. I do notice that the gpu is boosting at random times even during normal web browsing but normally stays pretty low during web browsing. I have seen that before when pc was working fine though, so I don't think its that. Also why would it be psu when the system post and everything and I can use web browsing for hours upon hours with no problem? I can sometimes even do that for games without crash but then other days it crashes. Normally I just reboot my system when I crash just once and never happens again that same day. However, today it happened 3 times, which never has happened before.

I would suspect driver issues.

Event viewer might give you some ideas. just google the error ID's.

see if there are any updated drivers at your motherboard site.
can also try reverting the graphics drivers to earlier ones and wait awhile for the latest drivers to get the bugs out.

I looked at that list....said it might need a BIOS upgrade...

Some Intel Z170 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Kaby Lake-S CPUs. Upgrading the BIOS may require a different CPU that is supported by older BIOS revisions.

Where do I go in event viewer? How can it be gpu when the gpu is only a month old and doesn't not display anything right away? How can it be psu when I been using system for hours sometimes? Makes no since. Gpu driver seems like the only logical answer given but I can even delete the drivers and reinstall using ddu without the system crashing every time I open that application?

Also if it is the PSU, the last time I tried replacing it by upgrading it, I ended up damaging the motherboard when I tried turning the system on and had to RMA the motherboard. I made sure I drained the power before installation but still ended up hurting my motherboard. How do I ensure that doesn't happen again? Maybe it was cause I was going from 650w to 750w and from fully modular to semi modular?

so.. you would google these...

ATKEX_cmd.exe
0x0eedfade
0x000eb832

ATKEX_cmd.exe----- basiclly you will find thats a realtek driver.... one post i read said to revert the driver to an earlier version.

0x0eedfade---- this one wasn't as straight forward. seems to have a lot of fake fix sites trying to get you to use thier product. just gonna ssume its a generic common term.

0x000eb832--- seems to be generic like a memory spot...

Faulting process id: 0x704 seemed to hit printer driver a lot...

anywayz...

I'd reinstall your drivers and get the latest ones from your manufacture/ or motherboard website. The graphics drivers might need to be reverted back once or twice to earlier versions(only do this after you work your audio driver first and see that that didn't fix it.)
do malware scan
adware scan
anti virus scan
rootkit virus scan
do a registry clean - Ccleaner or wisecare 365
run revouninstaller and find programs you don't use or don't recognize(make sure is not a legitimate driver)-- goodle them to make sure you can unistall them and use the revo deep scan.

if this does not help.... run belarc to document your program licenses.... get your data tranfered then do a clean install.... if you have data and licenses you don't want to mess with.. you have spare money and don't mind another hard drive; get a new hard drive and install new on that and see if the symptoms stay.

I did just recently install a printer but the problems were there before I even installed the printer. I will try reinstalling the drivers. I already did a malware scan and found nothing. I ran sfc scan for corrupted files and came back with nothing. So it seems like your telling me this is software issue, which I hope it is cause I would much rather deal with software than hardware problem, xd.

not sure about this sites policy and links....

https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/
https://www.malwarebytes.com/
60 day full trial..... if you don't have a good anti virus
http://buy-static.norton.com/norton/ps/bb/ushard/3up_ns1_nsh_nsbu_us_en_bort_60tw_brfr.html?om_sem_cid=hho_sem_sy:us:bs1:en:e|kw0000008196|73461197527813|c|bing|51048560|1688847731|kwd-15171017122&nortoncountry=US
https://security.symantec.com/nbrt/npe.aspx malwarebytes also has a rootkit scan...its in custom settings
http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/wise_care_365.html wisecare has thier official site but i just wanted to use this site...seems to be safer then others. just be careful with third party bundles. go slow thru installing..think...
http://filehippo.com/download_revo_uninstaller_pro/ also a farily clean site... but i do know they use third party bundles now...watch how you clean to install.

Ya you don't have to tell me links to different anti virus software as I already got it on my system and I know how to reinstall windows, only problem I have is activation, but I normally just call Microsoft and tell them before I do it so that if I have problems, they will give me new key or something.

Ok so I did all that system checking for maleware and rootkits and registry and still no improvement. I tried uninstalling by going to device manager and reinstalling and then NVidia couldn't reconiize my gpu for the reinstall so I had to do a system restore and then I got driver back and did system check for maleware and that type of stuff all over again. So trying to reinstall my drivers is proving to be an issue.

lot of persons are saying this board is rubbish.

I think ATKEX_cmd is going to be a keyboard extension to control the sound driver via the keyboard.
I would remove it or update it it will access a service or more likely a driver that you have loaded. you can uninstall the driver and the .exe if you update you have to update the driver and .exe or they will have problems with mis mactched build versions.

I found a forum here that explains how to uninstall and reinstall the program, but the application I use keeps uninstalling and reinstalling it then asking me to restart pc, what the heck is going on? Do I even need ATKEX thing? I heard it was just for sound through my gpu when I am using motherboard sound thing. Help.
