Cannot run Dual Channel

Hello. I have 4 sticks of Ballistix Elite 4gb RAM (total of 16gb) and a 970 MSI Gaming motherboard.

Originally, i had a Gigabyte 990 with 2 sticks of Ballistix RAM (8gb total). I constantly had 4gb reserved, about 1.5 cached, and could only use really about 2.5 gigs.

So i bought a new mobo, two new ram sticks (the same type, just another new pair), and a new graphics card (EVGA 1060) hoping an upgrade would fix it. However, i currently have 8.1gb reserved, about 1.5gb cached, and 6.5gb available. I checked with CPU-Z and it is only in single channel. So i think if it gets into dual, all of it will be available.

It isnt a compatibility issue because it detects it and knows it there's.

I'm running at a 1600mhz frequency.

How can i enable dual channel and gain access to that 8.1gb reserved?

Solution
Which slots do you have them installed in?

Make sure the modules are firmly installed in the same color slots furthest away from the CPU

You can also check each stick to see if both recognize as 4GB and work properly.

1| When posting a thread of troubleshooting nature, it's customary to include your full system's specs. List them like so:
CPU:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
^Please try and be specific about the parts. Links to your ram kit would help.

2| Have you made sure your motherboard BIOS is up to date?

3| To me it looks like you're running a 32bit architecture of the OS(also assuming you're on Windows but don't know which version).
