Hey all,

I've been using my rig for CAD and the only thing that I've had issues with is running moving simulations in CAD where you set joints and contact sets and drive them to see how a group of parts interact.(in this example I'm only talking about 3-5 gears rotating) Naturally this takes a good amount of processing power and graphics power. Now when I drive these constraints they do get driven and the parts rotate but not without a lot of buffering and loading even from the smallest movement. Now this has been happening for a while so I thought maybe I should upgrade something after considering what my bottleneck could be, I came up with RAM, since it was old and low frequency. So I bought a 8x4 vengeance kit by corsair put that in and now my computer seems a bit more sluggish. I used CPU-Z and found my frequencies didnt seem to change at all for some reason.

Here's my build:
Gaming Computer Build(09/15/17):

CPU: AMD FX-9590

Mobo: Gigabyte Technology
Model: GA-78LMT-USB3 6.0
Chipset: AMD 780G
Southbridge: AMD SB700
LPCIO: ITE IT8620

Memory: DDR3
Part#: CML32GX3M4A1600C10

Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970

I would post my CPU-Z views but this forum UI seems to be malfunctioning.

That's actually an overlooked point on my part, any recommendation on an mobo that is compatible thats still a Micro ATX form factor?

The FX9XXX series need serious cooling and psu, what cooler and psu do you have?

By the time you buy a high end motherboard, cooler and psu for the same money you could have got a modern Ryzen setup that will run on a cheap motherboard, comes with adequate cooling and doesn't need a high end psu, this setup would seriously outperform that relatively weak (by todays standards) Fx9590. Any chance you can refund the lot?

Ok so I went on PC Part Picker and found all the parts to my current build minus the mobo, I was looking at mobo's and found the sabertooth R2.0 but found out that there was the 3.0 that came out. found it on pc parts picker and it said it wasn't compatible, but I looked it up on ASUS website and found that it was. Is there a better option or should I go with this one?

Also I didnt add my Powersupply to the build yet, I need to see what mine is but I at least know mine is an EVGA 1000W so I should be good, worst case I get an adapter, right?

Ok about the best motherboard wise but some people still have problems getting the inferno of a cpu that the FX9590 is to run stable. Your cooler is ok, what PSU do you have as AMD recommend a minimum of 850w when running an FX9XXX series.

Seriously this is a lot of money on borderline obsolete hardware that is easily outperformed by modern setups.

I just updated the Parts list with the PSU. Its a EVGA - 1000W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply.

I have everything except the Mobo and the cooling unit.
