I recently upgraded my computer and specifically sourced RAM that was listed as compatible with the motherboard. Specifically I got Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 DRAM 3000MHz C15 Desktop Memory Kit - Black (CMK16GX4M2B3000C15. The ram is only registering at 2133. When I attempted to change it in the BIOS it would not boot and went back to the previous 2133. Is there something that I need to do in order to run this RAM at the listed speed? The bios is listed as up to date when I check in the ASUS app.

Yeah, that's a bit ambiguous setting, it doesn't show DOCP until you click on Auto. DOCP is a good start, let it set what it reads from XMP and than you can set it back to auto, leave RAM settings for frequency and make other changes after that.

This is done in the bios correct?

Thank you sir. I saw some of the stuff in the overclocking utility, but was not sure if it applied to the ram. There is a place that shows dram voltage in the overclocking utility in windows.

yeap, failed. The computer turned on and off several times and then said that overclock failed. Do you have to change both voltage as well as enter it at 3000? I even tried 2400 and it would not hold that either.

I use the 2666 version, left the voltage to 1.2, set the frequency to 2666 and set the timings to 16-18-18-35. Now it's working and it seems stable.

For your 3000MHz you should set timings to 15-17-17-(Auto)-35 frequency to 3000 and voltage to 1.35 (if it's not already there from auto)

Ok, seems I was just an idiot. To update this, there was a setting set to auto that I had to change to DOCP. Once doing that I also manually set voltage and one other setting and all is working as intended!
