Studio Xps 8100 mobo and cpu upgrade possible?

Solution
if the case fits and supports it, then yes, it's should be possible

i can't seem to find any specification on dell's website so u might need to measure it yourself

if possible, please change the PSU too, for the sake of ur PC

since u're not overclocking, something from at least tier 3 should suffice

what's the purpose of this rig?
gaming?
workstation?
daily usage?

I have upgraded the PSU to a Corsair RM650x 80+ Gold Certified and everything works fine.
I use this computer for gaming, so I've also upgraded the GPU to an MSI Gtx 750ti Twin Frozr Gaming

then it should be possible, see if your case can support ur mobo first (size and all)

as u can see in here: http://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-GTX-750-Ti-vs-Nvidia-GTX-1050-Ti/2187vs3649
750ti are pretty lackluster for the new gen games, unless u're willing to play AAA titles on low-med / u only play e-sport titles most of the time...

Well, I do own an EVGA SC17 1070 Laptop with a gtx 1070, so I'm thinking of upgrading this desktop more as time passes to make it my main computer. Maybe I'll change out the case soon.

Anyways, thanks a lot. Big help. I think that once I upgrade the mobo, I'll reinstall windows too since the prebuilt dell computers have windows tied to their motherboards, and if I change it out ill need to change windows too.

oh nice then, good luck and have fun :)
