My friend reset his computer and did not have a recovery disk or drive of any sort. How can we fix this? The computer was originally windows 8 but was upgraded to windows 10. It gets to the point where it wants to install windows and then stops. What do I need to do to get it working again. No other data is necessary because he is trying to sell.

Create an Win 10 installation USB stick
Install
Use the activation key he has for his original Win 8 if it ask. It's also possible he already linked his license with his Microsoft account.
