So my brothers birthday is coming up and I wanted to do something cool for him. He has an hp 112y base pc and obviously can't run any demanding games very smoothly on the integrated graphics. For his birthday I wanted to get him a graphics card such as the gtx 1030 (under $100) but I can't find anywhere if it would be compatible with this pc. Now I know I could get him the Radeon R7 240( or a similar card ) and it would do everything he wants, but sadly that card is too rich for my blood. I'm hoping I don't have to upgrade the psu but if I absolutely have to I suppose I can.

By the way the MOBO is the h-rs880-uatx (aloe)

Solution

I used this mock up build.. and it showed that it was compatible...as far as the AMD chipset... i could not get the same brand motherboard loaded.
